It’s a jungle out there, flora and fauna alike.

Nicola Glass continued her glamorous outtake with Kate Spade New York at New York Fashion Week (NYFW), with a collection that continued to touch on the roots of the brand in pinks and florals, evident from the resplendent scenography, but with an infusion of feline favorites: leopard print. Something even I sported to the show courtesy of Roberto Cavalli (yes, Milano).

The overall style was very late 70s, with pointy blouses, wrap dresses, flared trousers, loose fit blouses, and motif prints aplenty. Many of these were florals in shades of spruce green or candy pink. However my favorite were the brightly hued animal prints, a staple in my wardrobe and fascination. There was a red shirt dress, a purple coat, and natural hued dresses, trenches and shirts which added a wild dash of flair. I was informed that each runway model had two bags that they sported – a cross body and a purse or tote – owing to the brand’s origin with bags. Also poignant were the glittery leggings and sashay of headpieces, mostly as wraps and turbans giving an edge of bohemian chic to the collection. There were shimmery silken satin monochromatic blouses and dresses with flowing bows and tresses, all in shades of merlot and rose. The vibe was definitely feminine, but in a fun, glam girlie way.
