The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is … extra!
Christian Cowan epitomized this notion once again with maximalism and a high octane dose of drama at his second collection at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). My OOTD for his epic show and the afterparty at Public Hotels was one that matched his signature checkerboard: Tom Ford blue check pants with a white shirt and vintage boots.
This time, as per sources, he was inspired by the women of his life. Cardi B and Lady Gaga had sported his checkerboard and rhinestone designs, so he paid homage with oversized puff sleeves, rhinestone face masks and hints of checks. These were offset with a baby blue power suit for his mom, and a plethora of crystal and asymmetric styled dresses for partygirls worldwide. The style was a mix of street and chic, with oversized logo tees, crop tops, hoodies, transparent jumpsuits, tassel filled minidresses, tee-shirt dresses and of course, zebra print! The collection also debuted a collaboration with Guiseppe Zanotti with feathery footwear, and accessories in transparent, plastic hues with Bumble and Bumble.
